A brief history of the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences
1995- The start of the course of studies "Telecommunications Technology and Systems" in Salzburg-Itzling.
- The start of the course of studies "Forest products technology and Management" in Kuchl.
1996
- Start of the course of studies "MultimediaArt" in Salzburg-Itzling.
1998
- Start of the course of studies "Information Business & Information Management" in Salzburg-Itzling. In summer the courses of study remove to the complex Techno-Z in Salzburg.
1999
- In autumn the Salzburg Chamber of Commerce takes over the FHS as sole corporative owner.
- The courses of study "Information Business & Information Management" and "Telecommunications Technology & Systems" are extended to be made available to career, as opposed to full-time, students.
2001
- The start of the course of studies "Digital Television & Interactive Services".
- The career student course of studies “Business Development in Tourism” begins in Salzburg-Klessheim.
2002
- Start of the course of studies “Design & Product Management” in Kuchl.
2003
- The courses of study in Kuchl and Salzburg are merged into one corporation as from January 1.
Start of the course of studies "Construction & Design with Wood" in Kuchl in autumn.
- At the end of the academic year the study courses "MultimediaArt" and "Information Business & Information Management" enter the next phase of approval. The bussines-studies will run under the new name of "Business & Information Management”.
- The construction of the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences campus at Salzburg-Urstein gets underway at the beginning of October. In the middle of the same month the new University of Applied Sciences buildings for the three course of studies in Kuchl are officially opened.
2004
- The course of studies "Digital Television & Interactive Services" is re-named "Digital TV".
- The faculty of the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences unanimously elects the former Vice Chancellor Dr. Erhard Busek as Rector on October 22. As Minister for Science and Research exactly 10 years prior to this date Dr. Busek contributed very considerably to the founding of universities of technologies in Austria.
2005
- The course of studies "Telecommunications Technology & Systems" is renamed "Information Technology & Systems Management".
- October: Campus Urstein is the new headquarter of the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences.
- Start of the course of studies "Social Work".
2006
- Dr. Doris Walter becomes managing director of the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences. Dr. Doris Walter and Mag. Raimund Ribitsch are responsible for the operative management.
- Start of the courses of study "Biomedical Laboratory Sciences", "Occupational Therapy", "Midwifery", "Orthoptics", "Physiotherapy" and "Radiatation Therapy".
2007
Opening of the "Meierei" at the Campus Urstein, where the course of studies "Social Work" and the "Zentrum für Zukunftsstudien" are situated.
Since autumn 2007 most of the courses of study at FHS started as bachleor-programs.
2008
- March: Opening of "Matador", the new residence hall at Campus Kuchl.
