Physiotherapists, as experts for prevention, therapy and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal dysfunctions, influence the human being as a bio-psycho-social unit, through the musculoskeletal and organ systems.
They use physiotherapeutic means that have an effect on the musculoskeletal system, locomotor development and control as well as on internal organs. Amongst other things, they also consider the interaction between dysfunctions and how patients and clients experience or behave about them. This requires particular consideration of acquiring social communication skills during training and a high level of personal competence to be displayed by the students.
The progress in medicine, the removal of fields of activity from intra to extramural locations, as well as the growing importance of prevention, requires physiotherapists to obtain additional qualifications. These include the expansion of theoretical knowledge, acquisition of scientific competence as well as knowledge based on good foundations of quality control and management. This development ensures highly-qualified and economic patient care in the long run.
An education based on good foundations, focused on practical experience, is at the heart of the training concept, supplemented by scientific competence, social communication skills including problem solving skills. Our goal is high practical competence in all our graduates, ensuring optimal health care for the patients on the one hand, and fulfilling all the future needs of a highly sophisticated health care system on the other, as well as adjoining areas including all their quality and economical aspects.
