Curriculum Structure

Structure of the master's programme Innovation Development in the Social Profit Sector

The curriculum structures the skills and capacity-building content according to the four knowledge lines:

  • innovation of structures
  • innovative process and organizational development
  • innovative forms of participation and
  • research as an innovation aid


The course focuses on themes relevant for the social profit sector in ten modules (and 26 courses):

1. "State and Society": The Future of Social Problems and Social Conflicts, The Future of Social And Health Services, Socio-Spatial Aspects of Innovation in the Social Profit Sector

2. "Law and Economics": The Legal Framework of the Social Profit Sector and Social Planning, the Economic Basis of Quality of Life and Social Cohesion

3. "Process and Project Development": Management in Social-Profit Enterprises, Process and Project Development in the Social Profit Sector

4. "Practice Fields in Innovation Development in the Social Profit Sector"

5. "Facilitation Techniques and Media Skills": Communication Skills and Facilitation, Public Relations and Social Media in the Social Profit Sector, Mediatized Worlds

6. "Individual and Institution": The Subjective Factor in the Organizational Context, the Social Profit Organization as a Learning Centre

7. "Participation in Political and Social Processes": the Future of Democracy in a Globalized World, Political and Social Participation

8. "Research Methods": Scientifically Examine and Observe, Participatory Future and Innovation Research

The modules 9. "Student Research Projects" and 10. "Master's Thesis" allow extensive individualisation of the course by the consolidation of practical and theory-based reflection.
