Marketing and professional design
The Master's programme Design & Product Management combines training in professional, targeted design with a solid marketing base. Through this integration of product management in the design development process and the resulting extended repertoire of professional methods, the innovation rate has been raised, the chances of new ideas increased and thus flop rates reduced in the long-term.
Graduates of the Master's program in Design & Product Management grasp the larger context between an innovative idea and its commercial implementation. Thus, increasing the chances that innovative products are implemented and successfully launched.
In short: increasing the opportunities for implementing innovative projects is the primary motivation. Based on project work and case studies, equal weighting is given to specialist, social and methodological skills as well as to system competence. The 'design thinking' crystallized in the projects helps not only to identify relationships but also to teaches maintaining control using targeted project management. Crossing ideological barriers of individual disciplines, the integrative role – understood as communication focus and social competence – is particularly encouraged so as to provide optimum support to top management.
