Course of studies

The MultiMediaTechnology master’s degree trains professionals with creative, technical and economic expertise for the creative industries. At the core of the four semester course of studies are concept design and the development of innovative projects in the areas of digital entertainment, web & social media, collaboration technology, interface and interaction technologies, mixed reality and ubiquitous computing.

Every semester you will combine courses from the topics play, together, interact and lead for your personal compulsory elective module. You can enrol in additional courses from the master’s and bachelor’s curriculum as optional subjects.

With our curriculum app, you can put together and print your personal curriculum with the desired electives.


At the core of the four semesters course of studies is concept design and development of innovative projects. The curriculum is oriented towards the typical project phases – concept design, prototyping, implementation and release.

Focus & general concept

In the first semester you will broaden and deepen your computer science skills. In the subject Concept and Innovation and in the Open Creativity Lab you will engage in brainstorming and team building for your innovative projects.

Application & detailed concept

In the second semester you will begin with project implementation in a team, refine your concepts and develop your first prototype. As a student of the studies option lead, you will take care of the organisational aspects of the projects.

Professionalisation & implementation

In the third semester you will work on the completion of your innovative projects. As a student of the studies option lead, you will develop business and marketing models.

Transformation & release

In the fourth semester you will finalise your projects and work on their publication and marketing. In the master’s thesis you will demonstrate your theoreticl and scientific knowledge.
