The health of our employees is important to us and is anchored in the mission statement of the FH Salzburg. The BGF award is a nice confirmation for the long lasting efforts to create a healthy working environment at the FH Salzburg. Together with the employees and the works council, the committed team of the Personnel and Legal Department has worked especially on the further development of health-promoting conditions at the FH Salzburg," explains Doris Walter, Managing Director of the FH Salzburg, at the awarding of the BGF Prize on October 1, 2020.

BGF at the FH Salzburg: "join in = shape the future"

The health management at the FH Salzburg is based on the "BGF-Charta" charter for workplace health promotion and operates in three main fields: Occupational health and safety, company health promotion and company integration.

In accordance with the motto "do something = help shape", BGF has been successfully established at the FH Salzburg in recent years. The participation of the employees is regularly included in the BGF work through surveys. The measures planned in close cooperation with the works council and management include the design of work processes, infrastructural improvements as well as health-promoting training and workshops and tips for an ergonomically optimal workplace. Close cooperation with occupational psychology rounds off the services offered.

Seal of approval for workplace health promotion

Since 2015, the FH Salzburg has carried the "Seal of Quality for Workplace Health Promotion (BGF)". The seal of approval is the highest Austrian award for exemplary and above all sustainable investments in the health of employees and a prerequisite for nomination for the BGF Award of the ÖGK. In 2018 the seal of approval was extended for three years. The application for extension from 2021 is currently under review.

BGF goes digital

The corona crisis, home office and above all the many part-time employees at the FH Salzburg - in order to react to these challenges, the FH Salzburg is getting a new digital offer from autumn 2020: the Greyhound Workplace App by Olympic champion Günther Matzinger. The app combines all BGF measures at a glance - no matter where employees are currently located: Brainjogging and fitness exercises for the workplace, prescriptions and BGF appointments.

The BGF Award of the BGF network

The BGF Prize of the BGF network - to which the Ministry of Health, the Fonds Gesundes Österreich and the Austrian Health Insurance Fund belong - honors outstanding projects of special significance. In addition to general health promotion, the award-winning BGF projects fulfill other aspects such as gendering, aging, target group programs, etc. The prize is awarded every three years in the categories "small companies" and "large companies".

The FH Salzburg was nominated in the category of over 100 female employees and was awarded for the high acceptance and quality of the BGF measures. With this award, the FH Salzburg is considered a "Best Practice Model" for the best possible implementation of company health promotion projects.

In addition to the FH Salzburg, the company Progress Werbung was honored in the category up to 50 employees. Progress Werbung has mastered the challenges of a small business (approx. 30 employees) particularly well and offers the best possible support for staying healthy with its own sports and relaxation groups as well as nutrition programs.
