This information is for exchange semester or year and ERASMUS+ students only.

Students who wish to apply for a degree program to earn a Bachelors or Masters, please contact the program department directly.

The Application Process

Nomination Deadlines

Students need to first apply to their home campus international office to study abroad; be aware each home campus has their own deadlines for this process. Consult your home campus international office.

The nomination deadlines for partner institutions to nominate students for a study exchange at FH Salzburg are:

15 April for the following winter semester / 15 October for the following summer semester

Application

Deadlines: May 1st for Autumn Semester | November 1st for Spring Semester

Applications to our university can only be submitted digitally through the online portal.

The password to fill in the online application is provided directly to students who have been nominated by their home campus.

The following documents should be prepared and uploaded into the portal:

  • a letter of Motivation
  • a provisional Learning Agreement
  • last 2 transcript of records
  • a CV
  • 1 picture
  • copy of passport
  • High School Diploma/ A-levels certificate (or equivalent)
  • Bachelor certificate (if applying for exchange in at a Masters level)
  • if available, valid English proficiency test / letter of recommendation for English skills (if mother tongue is not English)

Please make sure that you have prepared all necessary documents. Each file must be uploaded in the .pdf format (max. file size 2MB).

In order to communicate with you about further steps in the application process, we require you to provide an email address that you check regularly.

Language Proficiency

Students wishing to study at FH Salzburg must either have a very good command of English or German. If students want to attend courses taught in English, they have to provide certification or a letter of recommendation for having at least a B2 level in English and/or German in case it’s not their mother tongue. A valid and internationally recognized English proficiency test such as TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge at level B2 is recommended (B2 level in English equals a minimum of 87 points regarding TOEFL iBT and a result of at least 6.0. as to IELTS). In absence of a test, we will accept a letter of recommendation from an English professor/instructor proving student’s written and oral proficiency in English.

Learning Agreement

Students can combine courses offered in various degree programmes, however, this must be planned in advance and must be specified in the provisional learning agreement prior to students’ arrival. Please contact the respective international academic advisor responsible within the degree program.

Course Catalogue

Please note: Exchange students interested in the degree programmes "Design & Product Management" or "MultiMediaArt" have to submit a Portfolio!
