In the Bachelor’s program in Green Engineering, you will learn how to align technological innovation with ecological and social requirements. In hands-on projects, you will develop solutions for real-world challenges – from resource-efficient product development and energy-efficient processes to sustainable corporate structures. You will gain an understanding of sustainable value creation processes, spanning the entire lifecycle from product development and marketing to recycling.

Starting from the third semester, you can choose to focus either on sustainable process engineering — designing sustainable products and processes — or, within the Circular Economy specialization, on making business operations more sustainable in the field of industrial engineering.

1st Year: Understanding the Fundamentals

In the first year, you will learn the foundations of natural sciences, environmental engineering, process engineering, and circular economy, along with basic business principles. In four different laboratory courses, you will apply your initial environmental technology knowledge in practice.

2nd Year: Acquiring Specialized Skills

The focus shifts to developing subject-specific competencies, and you will choose one of two specializations: Sustainable Process Engineering or Circular Economy. As in the first year, you will directly apply your newly acquired knowledge in industry internships. Additionally, you will gain foundational knowledge in life cycle analysis and project management.

3rd Year: Becoming a Specialist

You will complete your studies with a Bachelor’s thesis. In addition, you will work on a research project focused on a specialized topic within your chosen area of study. This final project may be based on your personal interests and/or carried out in cooperation with a company.

In the Individual Professionalization module, you can select from a range of courses according to your interests. Among other options, you have the opportunity to take certificate courses to obtain additional qualifications.

Internships

Internships are an essential part of the program from the very beginning and ensure practice-oriented training. The part-time study format allows you to immediately apply the knowledge gained in your professional life and to put your technical competencies into practice. The total duration of the internships amounts to 850 hours. If you are employed in a relevant professional field during your studies, these hours may be credited in place of the internship.
