During a livestream on the Ubisoft Twitch channel, the final project of students from the Creative Technologies Department was chosen as the winning title of the Ubisoft Game Together 2023 at the end of June. The jury of the award, which is organised by Ubisoft Education, particularly emphasised Coral Cove's ease of entry and clever additions to the common Match 3 genre, as well as the game's overall very well-rounded stage of development. As a prize, the winning team will receive mentoring workshops with experts from Ubisoft.

Victory at the PGDA Talent Award

Corel Cove was also chosen as the winning project at the Austrian Talent Award of the Association of Austrian Game Developers PGDA (Pioneers of Game Development Austria). The award ceremony took place on 2 July 2023 at the Level Up Gaming Festival in Salzburg.

The PGDA Talent Award recognises young teams for their skills and creativity in game development.  Out of 12 submissions from teams across Austria, three games were shortlisted, from which Coral Cove emerged as the winner.  As a prize, the Coral Cove team will receive a stand at Gamescom in Cologne as well as a valuable mentoring programme. This success not only brings recognition, but also opens doors to new opportunities and industry connections for the students.

In Coral Cove, players embark on a mission to restore the damaged underwater ecosystem. In a relaxing match-3 game, they must piece together coral to create a living reef. With short rounds, challenging obstacles and endless strategic possibilities, Coral Cove offers great replay value.
