After completing the foundation year in your first year of study, you will choose your specialisation and focus on either Future Web & Mobile or Game & Immersive Tech. You will also select a specialisation – either Interaction Design or AI Engineering – to expand your knowledge and skills in a targeted manner.

This combination results in a clearly structured qualification matrix:

  • Professional software development based on modern programming languages (e.g. C#, Python, TypeScript, C++)
  • Up-to-date technology and development expertise for web, mobile, games and XR

In the Future Web & Mobile specialisation, you will design the next generation of digital experiences. You will master modern web frameworks and native mobile development, applying essential standards such as web application security, accessibility and privacy by design. This will equip you for careers that bridge the worlds of gaming, the creative industries and interactive technologies.

  • 3D Modelling & Prototyping: You build 3D models and develop playable game prototypes.
  • Interactive Game Environments: You programme interactive games and realistic simulations.
  • Game Engines & Tools: You work professionally with modern game engines such as Unity and Unreal.
  • Game Design & User Experience: You will design innovative game mechanics and optimise the user experience.
  • Game Mechanics & AI: You will implement complex game mechanics and develop intelligent game AI.
  • Immersive Technologies: You will create immersive experiences using virtual and augmented reality technologies.

Specialisation

Interaction Design: Shaping Digital Experiences

In the Interaction Design specialisation, you will work with various interactive technologies and materials and develop future interfaces and forms of interaction through design processes.

  • Interaction Design Studio (Iterative design process, experience prototyping, evaluation and reflection on interactive systems)
  • Human-centred Design Methods (user research, requirements and context analysis, usability and UX evaluation)
  • Creative Making & Physical Interfaces (physical-digital prototypes, sensors and feedback, 3D printing and interactive materials)
  • Interactive Audio & Sound Design (sound as a design element in interactive systems, tools for audio and integration into multimodal interactions)
     
AI Engineering: Developing Intelligent Systems

In the AI Engineering specialisation, you will develop high-performance and responsible AI systems for real-world applications. You will work with proven machine learning and deep learning models, learn about current trends in generative AI, and design transparent, fair and secure AI solutions in line with the principles of Trustworthy AI.
