The application deadline for the Master in Realtime Art & Visual Effects has been extended. EU-citizens can apply until 15 August 2024. Appointments for the admission interview will be sent by e-mail. Please note: Applications from non-EU applicants are no longer possible - the deadline for applications was 31 March.

Prerequisites for admission

  • Relevant university degree (bachelor's or diploma degree) from a domestic or foreign institution of higher education or 
  • non-subject-related degree with proof of 20 ECTS in digital content creation or software development
  • English Level B2

Phase 1 - Online Application

  • Bachelor’s diploma, diploma supplement (including course duration, description of the course content and credits) and / or transcript of records including course titles, and credit hours
  • Europass CV see
  • Bachelor's  thesis (final thesis of your university studies). Please send us the written thesis of your university studies as a PDF document. If not available when applying, this can be submitted at a later date.
  • Copy of Passport or ID card
  • Motivational Letter
  • Proof of required ECTS
  • Portfolio-Link (Link to personal Online Portfolio, Artstation Page, or similar; the portfolio should include explanations about the personal contribution, used techniques and further relevant information.)

Phase 2 - Admission interview

The admission process at Salzburg University of Applied Sciences is designed to help you succeed from the very beginning. Whether you're joining us in person or via video conference, we aim to make your experience enriching and informative. The heart of the admission process is the interview – your chance to shine! During this conversation, you'll have the opportunity to get to know us better, share your motivations for pursuing your studies, and discuss your past projects and professional experiences. It's a two-way street, allowing us to learn more about you and ensuring that our program aligns with your goals.

You won't have to wait long for the results – approximately one week after your interview date, you'll receive an email with the outcome of the admission procedure.

Deposit on the tuition fee for interested students with previous education from a third-country

The FH Salzburg collects a deposit on the tuition fee from interested students with previous education from a third-country (all states except EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland). This does not apply to those interested in the joint study programs (HCIE-M - Human-Computer Interaction or AISEM – Applied Image and Signal Processing) established with the Paris-Lodron-University Salzburg (PLUS). Prospective students who take up studies at the FH Salzburg will have the deposit credited to the tuition fee (tuition fee and student union fee/ÖH fee) for the first semester, otherwise  the deposit will be refunded.
