In the Bachelor’s degree programme in Green Engineering, students have the opportunity to specialise in a particular field. From the second year onwards, they can choose either the specialisation in Sustainable Process Engineering, focusing on the development of sustainable products and processes, or the specialisation in Circular Economy, which prepares them to make business operations more sustainable within the field of industrial engineering.

Specialisation: Sustainable Process Engineering
With the Sustainable Process Engineering specialisation, you will gain expertise in the concept of circularity in material flows – from primary raw materials and production systems, through to the product itself, and finally the generation of high‑quality secondary raw materials using advanced recycling and manufacturing techniques.
This specialisation aims to minimise the harmful environmental impacts of products and processes throughout their entire life cycle. This includes the use of sustainable materials, reducing energy consumption during manufacturing, and developing products that are recyclable or biodegradable.
You will learn how to design processes along the material flow – from raw material extraction to end‑of‑life scenarios – in an energy- and resource‑efficient way while minimising the ecological footprint.
Topics covered in the Sustainable Process Engineering specialisation include Raw Materials Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental and Bioprocess Technology, Sustainable Planning of Production Processes, and innovative sustainable manufacturing technologies.
Specialisation: Circular Economy
The Circular Economy specialisation focuses on integrating environmentally friendly practices and technologies into a company’s (management) processes to promote sustainability and reduce environmental impact. This specialisation takes a holistic approach to managing business operations and systems, with an emphasis on ecological sustainability and minimising negative environmental effects.
It involves incorporating environmental considerations into all areas of an organisation – from planning and procurement to production and marketing.
Topics covered in this specialisation include Raw Materials Management, Industrial Logistics, Urban Energy Systems and their integration into existing infrastructures, Sustainable Supply Chain Management, as well as Sustainable Marketing and Stakeholder Management.
