Green Materials & Processing

The Green Materials & Processing research group researches and develops sustainable, bio-based materials and products with a focus on wood – from material and process innovation to application in the circular bioeconomy. The circular use of bio-based materials replaces fossil raw materials, stores CO₂ and saves resources through circular solutions. Efficiency gains and cost reductions are achieved through smart process optimisation.

The research group covers the following fields of research:

  • Materials research from nano to macro
  • Materials and product development
  • Process analysis and optimisation
We use research and development to unlock the value of sustainable materials for the future.

Research enhances the visibility of FH Salzburg through international collaborations and conferences and connects science, business and teaching. The research group supports scientific development up to doctoral level in cooperation with international universities.
